I have to agree with the guy who complained about Ft. Jackson. The housing sucks. It's small, dirty, nothing works, and when they try to fix it or replace it; they do it incorrectly. I had new glass light globes dangling from electrical wires, flooded new A/C units, tiles with aspestice sawed into while I was standing over them, and many houses flood with 6" of water in the the spring do to being half underground. The sewer system floods all over out side and into the yards all the time too. (Unhealthy and unsafe) There were problems with gangs there too, so they tried to implament a neighborhood watch program.
The only activites on post are all geared to serve the graduation crowd on post every week for two days. These are all money makers for MWR. They take a HUGE advatage of these families and make thousands of dollars every week off of them. They wont alow FRG's to have bake sales or sell anything to unit solders or families anymore because they take too much of a hit in thier own pocketbook! Over all if your a spouse you are the third class citazen there after solders and retiries. Drill spouses get no time with husbands and have nothing to do. Chaplain families have no housing because they are only there 6 months even when over half the houseing is empty because it is so bad!
Solder's barics are not any better. Ceilings are half rotten and building maintinence is unheard of. It took 3 years to get them to work on the roof of the Main Post chapel! I think it still rains in the offices over the computers. Lastly if I move back there ever I'm buying stock in the gateraid company. You bath in sweat walking to the mail box!
