We are currently at Ft Knox, KY. It's pretty small and a shock to the system after being at Ft Hood for 5 years. Honestly, all the posts weve been to have their good and bad points. It's really what you make of it. If you dwell on the negatives thats a shame. Weve had crappy housing and awesome housing. But if you try hard enough you can make any place you live look nice. The snow and temps at Ft Drum are shocking to some, I'm from the area so I grew up with it.
On the other hand the heat at Ft Hood comes close to melting your brain. Ft Drum-The adirondacks are beautiful and there are many things to do there. Ft Hood-you have Dallas and San Antonio close by and many other places to visits. Ft. Knox-Louisville is 30-45 minutes away. Heck when I met my husband he was in the Marine Corps at Camp Lejuene, NC. NC is beautiful! The beaches amazing. The frg's have been a godsend to me, especially during deployments. Getting involved on post helps alot. We are currently trying to get orders, were ready for a new adventure, a new place to explore. If my husband wasn't in the military we'd never get to travel this much, we and our children love it.
