Coming from Overseas to a small town in Georgia was a drastic change. The small town outside base is Hinesville . It is not that bad , but with the Division growing it looks like they are going to have to make changes around to make it easier for everyone . There are 3 Elementary Shcools on post so, far they have been good. The Division is on their way back from their 2nd tour in Iraq . So, far they have built a new Px,there is a large Commissary, as well as new Enlisted Quarters. The Base is going through major transformations so, that is a good thing .This is one Division that is constantly deploying so, if you want to spend time w/ your spouse than this is not the place you want to be in. Savannah is about 30-45 minutes and there are 2 large malls as well as a lot of restaurants and other stores around . Cost of living in Savannah is more expensive ,but of course there is more to do. I have made the best of it out here ,but we are ready to move on to another area.
