What to say about Beale. The base is alright. The people who live here are a friendly and nice. Off base is a little wierd. Base housing is going to be better within the next few years since the housing contrated it out. New houses will be built to replace the 70's houses. Some of the newer houses are nice but the old ones need updated. Off base housing is affordable but the best places to live good quick. They are starting to build a lot of new developments with in 30 mins of base that are very nice and affordable. Some apartments can be pricey but if you look you can find a nice house to rent for as much as an apartment. If you like rain half the year this is the place to be. It will rain for like 3 months straight and then stop for 4 months, then the rain comes. NO SNOW. Temps are nice year round. On base activity is good if you get involved. Lots of things for kids. Off base there are lots of things to do but you will drive at least 45 min to get some where. With in driving distance of Sacramento, San Fran, Reno, Travis AFB and Tahoe. Nice skiing areas around. Outdoor rec offers lots of trips to these areas a good price so you do not have to spend the money for gas. Jobs are good if you have some education. Lots of medical jobs. Great medical care due to Sacramento speacialties. Great colleges within driving distance. All in all a good place to live temporary would not stay in this area for long.
