If you are headed to Fort Bliss and are panicked because of the horror stories you have heard, let me be the one to tell you it\'s honestly NOT bad. Our installation has one of the biggest most modern PX and Commissary in the country. We have a Buffalo Wild Wings, Texas Roadhouse, Smash Burger, Starbucks, and a Dairy Queen on post...just to name a few. The movie theater is really nice, affordable, and spacious! It plays the latest movies and is right by the PX. I also love the bowling alley on post! It is nice and affordable. El Paso is a very nice city and has some excellent choices for housing. My husband and I bought a brand new 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 door garage home with a decent fenced off back yard for only 135k (thousand). And I mean NEW when we put our down payment the house wasn\'t even built yet. You truly get your moneys worth here. The people here are nice, there are various job opportunities both in the government and the private sector. The hospital on post (which isn\'t really on post technically) is really good. I have had an excellent experience with the doctors there. The only downside is of course it gets very hot in the summer but nothing a good AC can\'t fix. There are wind/dust storms in the Spring but hey no place is perfect. The MWR has tons of events and there is always something to do. Honestly I have enjoyed my stay at Bliss. I would not live here permanently BUT I would not mind getting stationed here again!! And no I am not biased I am not a native Texan or El Pasoan I am actually from Miami, Fl so take it from me ....Bliss isn\'t the dump people make it out to be!
