FORT LEE, Va. – Military commissaries will operate under a holiday schedule beginning Nov. 23, the Defense Commissary Agency announced.
The announcement means that many of the commissaries normally closed on Mondays will be open Nov. 23, expanding available shopping hours for patrons preparing for their holiday meals. Similarly, most stores will also be open Monday, Dec. 21, except for Hario Village Housing Area, Japan; U.S. Army Garrison Garmisch, Germany; Yuma Proving Grounds, Arizona; and Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak, Alaska.
All commissaries will be open on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) and New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31) except for Robinson Barracks, Germany, which is closed Dec. 31.
All commissaries will be closed on Thanksgiving (Nov. 26), Christmas (Dec. 25) and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1).
Patrons are reminded to check the “Store Information & Holiday Hours” box on their store’s webpage for specific operating schedules.
“We hope that our schedule helps patrons to maximize their benefit and save money over the holidays,” said Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Michael R. Saucedo, senior enlisted advisor to the DeCA director.

I love shopping the commissary however, their constantly stopping certain items, especially gluten free and lactose free is becoming very discouraging. Additionally I have had a few of the managers be very disrespectful to me when asking questions. I served almost 30 years in the military and feel that my shopping the commissary is something that I earned and should not be disrespected. Why can’t they order those items that have previously been ordered in the gluten and dairy free areas? Some of these items I can’t even find in town. Items like Schar saltine crackers. Another item that is almost impossible to obtain is Clorox or Lysol sanitary wipes. After seven months, I was finally able to get two containers of Clorox wipes.

Sorry I cannot help you except to commiserate with you in the issue of sugar-free items. They seem to be disappearing faster than the hare being chased by the fox! I wish I had better information for you, and hope you have luck in your quest!

How do I get my rewards card to work at the Ft Campbell Commissary? It is excepted by the computer but never takes any of the coupons off. What good is the card to me? Thanks
