hamburger Pastelillos

Name: debby calkins
Base: fort leavenworth
Recipe: Fast-easy to make(my hubby even made them when I went back home for vacation!)and delicious(my 4 year old loves them) 1 lb hamburger 2 packets Sazon 1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoon Recaito 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1 package large wonton wrappers Use fresh or defrosted hamburger-Do not defrost in microwave or in the pan. Turn on deep fryer to highest setting. Brown hamburger in skillet-make sure it is very small pieces(it holds the taste of the spices better this way)-Put back in pan and add remaining ingredients except wonton wrappers-Make sure the heat is on low to both brown and season. One at a time, scoop hamburger mix onto middle of wrap-get a cup of cold water and wet two edges then pinch shut.Pinch the edges that will create a triangle. Put in oil-cook till lightly brown on one side then turn over and cook the other side. Drain on paper towels. ------------------------------------------------------------ The wonton wrappers can be found in the salad section at your commissary and the Sazon and Recaito can be found in the Spanish food section at the commissary. The recipe as is makes about 6 or 7 Pastelillos but I pack each one full you can double or even triple the recipe depending on how many you want to make.If you don't have Italian Seasoning you can use Oregano. You can also use the small wonton wrappers to make this recipe. As a treat for my kids if I have any leftover wraps I put some cinnamon and sugar on the wraps and roll them up,pinch the edges shut and fry them while the oil is still hot. Hope you enjoy the recipe which is a favorite in my home!!
