Buttermilk Buscuits

Recipe: 2 c. all purpose flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 c. shortening 3/4 c. buttermilk In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk. Knead dough gently. Roll lout to 1/2 in. thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2" biscuit cutter and place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 450 for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Note: Yields 10 biscuits
