Apricot Sweet Rolls

Recipe: Apricot Sweet Rolls 1 cup flour 1 cup whole wheat flour 4 tsp baking powder ½ tsp salt ½ tsp cream of tartar ½ cup (1 stick) butter 1 tsp almond extract 2/3 cup milk filling ½ cup apricot preserves 3 oz cream cheese, softened frosting 1 T butter, softened 1 T milk 1 tsp almond extract 1/8 tsp salt 1 cup confectioner’s sugar 1. Mix both flours, baking powder, ½ tsp salt and cream of tartar in large bowl. 2. Cut in ½ cup butter until crumbly. 3. Add 1 tsp almond extract and the milk and mix well 4. Knead on a floured board for 30 seconds. 5. Roll into an 8x12 inch rectangle. 6. Mix apricot preserves with the cream cheese in a bowl. Spead over the dough. 7. Beginning on long side, roll into a tight roll. Pinch the edges together. Cut into 1 inch pieces with a very sharp knife. 8. Place cut side up on baking sheet sprayed with PAM. 9. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown on top and bottom. 10. Cool on pan on wire rack for 15 minutes 11. Make frosting by mixing all ingredients in a bowl. Spread over rolls.
