Deep-Dish Fried Apple Pie

Recipe: Ingredients •1 cup graham cracker crumbs •10-12 Rome or Golden apples, peeled and sliced •1-2 quarts water, for boiling •3/4 cup white granulated sugar •3-4 tablespoons flour, for thickening •2 teaspoons ground cinnamon •4 tablespoons butter or margarine, cut up •2 teaspoons vanilla extract Sprinkle 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs over bottom of deep-dish glass pie plate. Simmer apple slices for 10-12 minutes; drain in colander; return to pan. Combine sugar, flour, & cinnamon; stir into apples. Add butter and vanilla to apples. Saute in pan on medium heat for about 5-7 min. until, till mixture "sizzles." Spoon apple mixture onto graham cracker crumbs, sprinkle remaining graham crumbs over top. Serve warm or chilled. Spoon into dessert dishes
