Recipe: Ingredients: 2 cups dried pinto beans cleaned and sorted removing field material 2 cups dried red kidney beans cleaned and sorted removing field material 2 Baseball sized onions quartered 1 can diced or crushed tomatoes 2 fresh jalapinos *1/4 pound salt pork cut into 1" squares **1 bunch cilantro washed, leaves cut from stems ***1 24oz can Budweiser Beer Water Combine all ingredients in a large crock pot Add enough water to bring liquid level to bottom of lid recess Cook on high setting for 12 hours stirring after each 2 hour interval Substitutions: * ham or ham hocks for salt pork ** Use either stems or leaves for more or less cilantro flavor *** Beer is optional Serving recommendations: Serve with southern corn bread BBQ Brisket Any other Mexican style meal
