This is an old fashioned breakfast food and it is cheap and easy. Bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Combine remaining 1 cup water, corn meal and salt, slowly pour into boiling water, stirring constantly. Cook until thickened, cover. Coninue cooking 5 mins, stir. Serve hot w/ milk and syrup or margarine salt and pepper. Then, with any leftovers, grease a loaf pan and pour into pan overnight. Turn pan over onto a cutting board and slice thin. Fry in butter until brown and crispy, serve with syrup. |
