This is my German mother-in-law's creation. It hits the spot on stressful days with little time to cook a huge meal.
beef bullion cube
1/2 medium onion
1 8oz can tomato paste
1/2 stick of butter
flour
salt & pepper
Sauce-brown onion with butter until golden, add 1-1 1/2 tsp flour to thicken, add tomato paste(thinned with 12 oz water), add bullion cube
Cook about 10 minutes, simmer and season to taste
We serve the sauce mixed with mini Penne pasta sprinkled with parmesean cheese and a green salad on the side. Ice-Tea also seems to compliment the meal best.
