5c.water
1tsp.salt
2eggs
1clove garlic,minced
2/3c.milk
1/2tsp.ground pepper
1c.regular grits
1c.cheddar cheese,diced plus 1/2c.grated cheddar
1/2tsp.hot pepper sauce
Bring water to a boil.Stir in salt and grits.Lower heat and simmer for about 20minutes. Remove from heat;stir in butter,slightly beaten eggs,milk,1cup cheese,garlic,pepper and hot pepper sauce.Place in greased casserole and sprinkle with remaining cheese.Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Excellent served with catfish. |
