This is a very easy dessert that my stepmother taught me how to make. It's perfect for potlucks or company. It's amazing because the crackers turn into a flaky pastry. No one would ever guess that you didn't spend hours making this delicious dessert!
INGREDIENTS: Saltine Crackers (soda crackers)- Unsalted.
Cool Whip (large container)
Chocolate or Vanilla Jello instant pudding
1 can cherry or strawberry pie filling (or fresh strawberries)
DIRECTIONS: Prepare pudding mix according to package directions.
Using a 9x13 pan, spread a layer of cool-whip on the bottom of the pan then place a single layer of crackers on top. Follow with a layer of pudding and coolwhip, then another layer of crackers. Continue doing layers of pudding, coolwhip, then crackers. Top the last layer of crackers with cool-whip, then spread the pie filling or fresh strawberries on top.
Cover and refrigerate the dessert overnight.
