Salsa

Name: Rachel Looney
Base: Tinker AFB
Recipe: 1 Large can Crushed Tomatos (The really large can) 1 Can Diced Tomatos (I use italian style) Jalapeno Peppers to taste (I use the jar kind) 1 Lime Accent Salt (It's a vegetable salt) Cilantro (fresh or dried) Minced Garlic 1 Medium onion Black Pepper Chili Powder I start off with a teaspoon of all the spices and then work my way up with whatever needs more. The accent salt, a teaspoon is enough. Cut your lime in half, and squeeze the juice into the tomatos. The accent salt and the lime juice is what brings the flavor out the most in the salsa. I also like my salsa really smooth and not chunky, so I put the can of diced tomatos in my chopper and chop them for a few seconds. Then I add half of the onion and my jalapenos and chop those together until everything is chopped real well. Then finish the other half of the onion. If you are using fresh cilantro and using a chopper, then you need to put that in with the other half of the onion. After your done, chill it for a few hours and it's ready! Letting it all chill is what makes the flavors run together better!
