Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake

Recipe: Cake: 2 c sugar 2 c sifted flour 1 stick margarine 1 c water 4 T cocoa 1/4 c shortening 1/2 c buttermilk 2 beaten eggs 1 t soda 1 t vanilla 1 t cinnamon Icing: 1 stick margarine 4 T cocoa 1 box powdered sugar 6 T milk 1 t vanilla 1/2 c chopped nuts In a large bowl combine 2 cups sugar and two cups sifted flour. Melt in Sauce pan 1 stick margarine, one cup water, 4 tablespoons cocoa and 1/4 cup shortening. Bring to a rapid boil. Pour into sugar and flour mixture; Mix well. Add 1/2 cup buttermilk, 2 beaten eggs, 1 teaspoon soda, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Pour into greased sheet pan. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes. Mix 1 stick margarine and 4 tablespoons cocoa. Melt these ingredients together. Add 1 box powdered sugar, 6 Tablespoons milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Beat well and pour on hot cake. Serves 12.
