What you need: 1 box of white cake mix w/ everything you need for it, vanilla, strawberries, sugar, heavy whipping cream, and 2 round cake pans.
The cake: Make white cake following all baking instructions, except use whole eggs and add 2tbsp of vanilla to the batter. Divide batter into the two pans and bake. Let cool completely and level off the topp of each layer of cake.
The filling: Cut the strawberries into slices, combine strawberries, 1cup of sugar, and 2tbsp of water in a bowl. Stir until strawberries are coated. Then in a food processor combined half pint of whipping cream, 1/4 cup of sugar, mix until it looks stiff.
The assembly: Put the first layer of cake down and put the strawberry mixture, spread evenly. Then place the second layer on top of the first. Take whipped cream topping and spread over the cake and sides makeing sure to putt a little extra in between the two layers. Take the remaining strawberry mixture and place it on top of the finished cake. refridgerate until you serve it.
Hints: You can also use cool whip, or strawberry pie filling to sweeten it up a little bit. |
