Strawberry Sponge Cake

Recipe: 1 lg. pkg. Ready Whip 1 lg. or 2 small pkg. strawberry Jell-O 3 boxes frozen strawberries 2 sponge cakes (round) Tear sponge cakes in bits. Arrange pices of cake over bottom of buttered 14 x 10 x 2 in. baking pan. Dissolve gelatin in two cups of boiling water in medium size bowl. Add 10 or 12 ice cubes and stir until gelatin thickens. Remove any undissolved ice cubes. Fold in whipping topping and two cups of fruit over cake pieces. After it sets, pour the rest of the strawberries over top layer. I depended on this recipe to get me through a period when my oven wasn't working. It go so popular that I was often asked to bring it to office potlucks and family gatherings. It has become one of my very favorites, especially here in AZ when it's so hot in the summer to bake and fire up my oven.
