Ham and Potatoes Au Gratin

Name: Sarah Null
Base: Fort Campbell
Recipe: Ingredients: 8 potatoes, (peeling optional) 2 pints heavy whipping cream 8 oz sharp cheddar shredded cheese 1/2 clove fresh garlic, sliced thinly pinch of pepper dash of salt 1/2 C chopped green or yellow onions 1 bag cubed ham Parmesan (optional) Preheat ovent to 350 degrees. Start by bringing stockpot of water to a rapid boil and add the peeled or unpeeled potatoes while continuing to boil for 10-15 minutes. In a seperate pot add garlic and cream over medium heat until bubbling occurs and once you have achieved this add pepper, salt onions and cheese. With a wisk, blend the ingredients together until the cheese is melted and evenly distributed and let cool while you drain the potatoes. After you have drained the excess water from the potatoes in a strainer, add the potatoes to the cheese mixture and stir until evenly coated. When you have finished the second to last step pour the casserole into a baking dish, preferably stoneware, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. If desired, sprinkle parmesan on top and enjoy. This adequately serves my husband, myself and 2 children and proves to be our family favorite. Thanks for looking and I hope you find it as delicious as I do!
