1/2 lb. butter 5 T. cocoa
1 c. shortening 1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. baking powder
5 whole eggs 1 c. milk
3 c. flour 1 T. vanilla
Cream butter, shortening and sugar together. Add 1 egg at a time while beating until all 5 are used. Sift together all dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture in small amounts along with the milk and vanilla. Grease the bottom only of a tube pan. Pour in cake mixture and bake 1 hour and 30-40 minutes at 325 degrees. Cool well before removing from pan. |
