Rice with Pinto Beans |

2 3/4 cups water
2 cups long grain rice
1 can pinto bean drain (Goya)
1/4 cups corn oil
2tbs. sofrito goya (or a tbs of each onion, bell pepper, cilantro, oregano and 2 garlic)
2tbs. tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp. adobo goya (all purpose seasoning)
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1pq sazon goya (color and enhance flavor)
5-7 spanish olives (manzanilla)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
On a pot put the oil, sofrito, adobo, black pepper,sazon garlic, spanish olives and tomato sauce, sauté for a minute the add water and pinto beans bring it to boil. At this point add the rice wait until the water dries and lower the heat to minimum, (in electirc stove like 2 1/2),cover and cook for 35 minutes half way stir the rice for an even cook.
Serve with fried chicken and a salad. |
