You'll need:
1 cup of butter
1/2 cup of sugar
2 sleeves of saltines
1 12 ounce bag of milk chocolate chips
And a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil
Preheat oven at 400 degrees. On stovetop heat sugar and butter together until boiling. Cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and then line the cookie sheet with the saltine crackers. Pour the sugar/butter mixture over the crackers evenly and then put it into the oven for approximately 10 minutes or until it reaches a golden brown color. While still hot pour the bag of chocolate chips on top and use a rubber spatula to smooth the chocolate around until it becomes even and smooth. Put the cookie sheet into the freezer for two hours or until solid. Break and crack into pieces and serve! This is a delicious treat and works especially well at the holidays!
After smoothing chocolate but before freezing you can add fun things for color. Put sliced almonds or coconut on top these work well. |
