1 French Vanilla Cake Mix
1 Container Cool Whip
1 package Raspberry Jello
1 pint fresh Strawberries
---ingredients listed on cake mix box, usually eggs, water, and vegetable oil, quantities vary by brand
Prepare cake mix as directed, divide batter into 2 8x8 cake pans, bake as directed.
Allow cake to cool, then poke random holes in cake using a toothpick. Put toothpick straight in and pull straight up, put about 60 holes in each cake
While cake continues to cool, prepare Jello. Bring 3/4C water to a boil. In a bowl, empty Jello mix, add boiling water and stir for approximately 30 seconds or until Jello is disolved. Add 1/4C cold water to the mixture.
Poor 1/2 of Jello mixture over each cake. Put in refrigerater approximately 1 hour to allow cake to cool and set.
Slice strawberries in 1/2.
Remove cakes from pans. Set one cake aside, on the other cake, spread a thin layer of cool whip on the top. On top of this layer, spread the strawberries out. Put reserved cake on top of this layer. Proceed to cover the cake w/ Cool whip and use remaining strawberries to decorate. Place back in refrigerator.... Serve chilled!
Switch it up! Use Strawberry flavored cool whip or a different flavor of Jello. Add Blueberries to the mix or one of your other favorite fruits! Great for a summer treat! |
