This is a quick and easy dessert that is a big hit at pot lucks.
Ingredients: 1 Store bought Angel Food Cake, 1 small box of Strawberry Jello, 1 pint of frozen strawberries, 1 container of Cool Whip.
Directions: Slice off about 1/4 inch of the angel food cake, set aside. Hollow out the cake (don't leave the inside wall and outside wall too thin), put the chunks in a bowl and set aside. Mix strawberry Jello using only the hot water to disolve jello. For the cold water add the frozen strawberries. Once the frozen strawberries have thawed add the cake chunks to the mixture. Stir until well mixed. Spoon mixture into hollowed out cake. Replace the top and ice with the Cool Whip (I always put it on as thick as possible). Put in refrigerator for at least a couple of hours to let jello set. From start to finish only takes approximately 20 minutes to do. |
