Grandma Blaum's Riddle Soup |

Small ham cut into chuncks
6 white potatoes chopped (with or without skins)
onions
2 cups flour
3 eggs
salt and pepper
6 cups water
Bring water, ham, potatoes and onions to a boil. Simmer. In mean time, mix flour and egg in bowl. Mixture should be sticky and small pieces (what we call riddles). Slowly add pieces to soup. Let simmer until riddles cooked through (not doughy). Enjoy. It is what we eat when money is very, very tight. I love it! |
