Name: Suzanne P. Whitaker
Base: Ft Belvoir
Recipe: 1 lb of 90% lean hamburger 2 or 3 cups of Muller's Elbows 1/2 table spoon of sea salt 2 table spoons of butter 1 small onion diced 1 table spoon of diced garlic 1/2 to 1 cup of Kraft shredded cheese In a small sauce pan brown the hamburger and onions. Stir in the garlic and 1/2 table spoon salt while browning. Once browned, drain any excess fluid or fat. In a two quart pot, bring ample amount of water to a boil. Enough water (4 to 6 cups) cover the elbows well. Once the water is boiling, put the elbows and 1/2 table spoon sea salt in the boiling water. Allow elbows to cook to your desired consistency. 15 to 20 minutes. When the elbows are done, mix the elbows, butter, hamburger and onions in a small microwavable dish, sprinkle the cheese on top and place in the microwave. Allow about two to three minutes, enough time to allow the cheese to melt. Serve in small bowls with a glass of iced tea or lemonade. Great summer time dish that kids love.
