1/2 c. margarine or butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
2 c. self-rising flour
2/3 c. milk
Sauce: 6 large granny smith apples and 1 c. sugar
Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla together. Add eggs and beat after each egg. Beat until light and fluffy. Add flour and milk alternately. Mix after each one. Put into 2 floured, greased 9-inch round cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
Apples: Slice apples thinly. Cook with sugar until cooked down something like applesauce. When cake is cooled, spread with apples. |
