(continued)
2) RUN DOWN/DIRTY/PESTS
2a) Termites, roaches, large centipedes, and ants everywhere. Base housing is really bad for this. Welcome to the tropics!
2b) People let things run down, get covered in grafitti, etc. The majority of areas on Oahu would be considered ghetto on the Mainland.
2c) Poor road conditions – cars sustain thousands of dollars of damage from pot holes and rocks falling from trucks or being kicked up.
2d) Don't try to keep a nice car here. People ding it up with their doors or tap dents into your bumpers and don't care.
2e) Kids run wild and parents don't supervise. They block the roads and damage landscaping. Parents don't take responsibility for them.
2f) They say you don’t need AC but when you open your windows, red dirt flies in and permanently stains everything and makes your house dirty. Since most people live this way, any place you want to live needs serious cleaning to make it liveable.
2g) Large homeless population on the beaches and in the parks.
