We have been stationed at Ft. Campbell for 11 years out of 15. We have five years until retirement and hope to spend it all here at Ft. Campbell. It can be hard at times with all of the deployments, but the community helps out. When the 101st is deployed the community gives discounts, and even free events. There are many things to do around here, Clarksville, and Hopkinsville. There are many events for family. I highly suggest looking up the Ft. Campbell MWR and you will find plenty to do.
The only thing I do not like about Ft. Campbell is Blanchfield Hospital. It is too small for the base and there are not enough doctors. The PX is amazing, and the Commisary could use a bigger building. Housing is comming along. It has needed a face lift for a long time. Now Ft. Campbell is getting it. There are areas that still need work but it's comming along. The "privatised" company that took over housing is not too bad. The best thing about Ft. Campbell are the schools. Ft. Campbell still has DOD schools and it shows. My children have been in other schools and so far Ft. Campbell has been the best when it comes to learning, and great teachers. So, overall I love Ft. Campbell, and hope that if Ft. Campbell is in your Military path you will enjoy it too.
